Black Holes and Super Massive Black Holes!!!

New evidence for the existence of super massive black holes in the center of some galaxies! A Black Hole is what's left over after a very massive star reaches the end of it's life and closes in a tremendous explosion called a super nova. A super nova explosion is so powerful that, for a short time, it can out shine the entire galaxy in which it resides! The core of the burned out star continues to colapse until it no longer exists as matter as we know it. It is now a black hole in space and time. The acceleration of gravity produced is now so strong that even light can't escape its influence. Some galaxies appear to have "Super Massive Black Holes" up to 1 Billion solar masses, in their centers. These giant vacuum cleaners scoop up dust, gas, and even stars, to create a very large accretion disk of matter around them. As this matter is pulled into the darkness, a massive amount of energy is produced and it is this energy that let's us know that the Black Hole even exists. The synchrotron x-radiation and light energy produces a narrow beam, at a right angles to the accretion disk, and can extend for hundreds of light years into space in both directions!
