Asteroids and "Comets"
closing from our Sun, where we can't see them, pose an unknown risk to our entire
planet!!! Where do they come from? Between Juipiter and Mars is the Asteroid
belt with objects from small rocks to 500 mile giants. Then there is the Keiper
belt, then the Oort cloud ~ 1/3 of the distance to our closest star, Alpha Centauri,
a triple system. Gravitational pertubations sling asteroids from their belt
into the inner Solar system. These become NEO's (Earth Crossing Asteroids).
Comets from the two clouds can approach us from the direction of the Sun and
give us virtually no warning of an impact to our planet Earth!!! What can we
do? The nuclear option will just make things worse. Other technologies like
solar mirrors, rockets, and gravity shifts, are not ready. Click
